Four-slot charger and analyser for cylindrical single-cell batteries

The SkyRC MC3000 is a charger and analyser with four slots for cylindrical single-cell batteries. It supports more than 42 battery sizes, including AAAA, AAA, AA, Sub-C, C and RCR123, and seven listed battery chemistries: NiMH, Eneloop, LiIo4.35, NiZn, NiCd, Lithium-Ion and LiFePO4.

A built-in aluminium cooler dissipates heat even at slow fan speed. The 128 × 64-pixel screen has five operating views, including Total Overview (TOV). Four slot-number buttons select the slots, while four further buttons are used for programming and operation. Simple and Advanced UI modes provide access to 30 user-defined operation profiles.

Rubber feet and a tilting stand support the charger; the tilted position improves the viewing angle and airflow underneath. Bluetooth BLE 4.0 enables control and viewing of real-time data and graphs through a mobile app. PC Link software provides control, real-time data and graphs, and firmware updates.

The charger has six operation modes. Charge and Discharge operate at the selected rate. Refresh Analyze can determine capacity for battery matching and is intended for batteries stored for more than two weeks but less than 3 months, or showing poor performance. Break-In uses a low-rate charge-discharge-charge cycle for new batteries or those stored for more than 3 months. Cycle repeats a charge-discharge cycle up to 99 times and can remove memory effect. Storage charges or discharges lithium batteries to a storage voltage.
