SkyRC Brushless Motor Analyzer

Brushless motor analyser for kV, RPM, current, timing and noise measurements

The SkyRC Brushless Motor Analyzer measures kV rating, RPM, current draw, motor timing and vibration noise level, and checks the Hall effect sensors of brushless motors. Its 2 × 16-character LCD displays real-time measurements for sensored or sensorless brushless motors.

• kV (RPM per volt): rotor speed per volt at a given throttle setting
• U (voltage): input voltage to the motor analyser
• RPM: rotor speed at a given throttle setting
• I (current): motor current draw at a given throttle setting
• Motor timing: physical endbell timing; rotating the sensor board requires tools
• Noise level: measures motor vibration noise in decibels (dB); poor assembly, bearings or an unbalanced rotor can cause vibration
• Vibration noise adversely affects motor performance; measuring noise levels helps select the less noisy motor
• The decibel (dB) is a logarithmic unit used to express noise level
• Phase A, B and C sensor timing: displays the actual timing of each of the three sensor elements
