Description
Ghiant RC Car Colours Fluo Red is a ready-to-use, quick-drying, lightweight, fuel-resistant spray paint for racing, developed for polycarbonate RC car bodies. Its solvent etches the surface so the paint bonds permanently with the polycarbonate. Compared with pre-painted or water-based coloured bodies, the paint can reduce the weight of a 1/10 scale race body by up to 15 g, lowering its centre of gravity.
Notes
- Before painting, remove dirt particles, cut out the body and sand the cut edges. Mask areas that are not to be painted with masking film or tape; make sure surfaces are dry and free of dust.
- Many bodies have a transparent protective foil on the outside. Do not remove it until the paint has dried.
- Paint dark colours before light colours to prevent the dark colours from showing through.
- Shake the can vigorously for approx. 2 min. before use, until the mixing ball rattles. Spray from approx. 20–30 cm using even cross movements.
- Covering capacity varies slightly by colour. Apply light coats to avoid bleeding; the final result takes 2–3 coats. Wait approx. 5 min. between coats rather than applying one heavy coat. Let the paint dry for 5 min. before removing the masking film and applying the next coat.
- After use, turn the can upside down and spray for 2 s until the nozzle is empty.
- Fluorescent colours appear not to cover as well as normal colours. Apply only very light coats at temperatures above 15 °C, spraying from a distance of +/-15/20 cm.
- Let fluorescent colour dry for 30 min., then back it with white RC Car Colour to obtain the fluorescent effect.
